When restoring my C years ago, I got the grille back from the plater and was aghast to find that they had broken a section out of the crosshatches. I spent several hours fashioning a repair section for the broken piece because it looked so sad with the broken piece as it lay on the workbench. At a car show a month later I examined a C to make sure my repair was correct to the factory piece and discovered......... It wasn't broken at all. There is NO WAY to get at the unlatch mechanism should I complete my repair!! I felt very foolish!!!
