I don't believe B-J prices are indicative of market value, at least in the vast majority of sales there. Put Clellend's 300 through any other auction and see what it brings. It seems to me there were an awful lot of the cars sold at B-J where the owner would not be able to even begin to get his money back if he decides to sell.

That's my opinion...

  it for the same amount before the sale?  Strikes  me that value is value and 
  the idea of insurance is to insure according to the  value and risk.  If a 
  public auction isn't proof of market value, I don't  knnow what is.
