RE: [Chrysler300] while you were watching the G, there was an F

I doubt there are any McCulloch (later Paxton) blown birds left in original 
condition. The 312 Y-block couldn't handle the power produced by the 
supercharger. The Main bearings were very narrow in a Y-block and the extra 
pressure from supercharging would literally squeeze the mains right out of 
the caps and the engines would self destruct.

We had a group in central Ohio that drag raced a blown Bird back in the 
60's, Dagwoods Restaurant. The car was competetive in NHRA Stock Eliminator 
but suffered from engine breakage. They tried everything but couldn't solve 
the bearing problem.  But it really screamed until it blew up.
