[Chrysler300] 413 rebuild

Best wishes for a good 2006.

Shortly, I hope to start the rebuild of a 413 engine for the 62 300H (from Fern R.) my son-in-law and I will restore.

There is only one engine rebuilder in this immediate area of Wisconsin. He has done quite a bit of work and has been recommended by a couple of different people.

He has given me the following estimates:

1) Full engine rebuild kit - approx $700

2) Engine cylinder bore ( to 0.040" over) - $120

3) Crankshaft grind (0.010" under) - $80

4) Engine assembly - $200 (I'll do external parts assembly - manifolds, old pan, valve covers, etc.)

5) No work is anticipated on the heads/valves

These $ seem very reasonable to me, but it has been a long - long time since I had any work like this done. How do these prices sound and is there anything else to be aware of or check on.

Thanks,

Carlton, (a very mild start to Winter here in north-central Wisconsin)
