You fellows on the west coast were a lot better organized we were here
in the northeast. My first year at the drags (1960) my car was
classified, as were the other automatic super stockers, ASS , no slash.
I don't have to tell you what kind of ribbing we took. But it was all in
fun. (sometimes)

As far as I know the title Super Stock came from the Drag Racing 
Organizations.  They were the ones who classified what class you would
