    Apparently on the assembly line, one some cars the guy on the left 
side had one type of pw motors while the guy on the right side of the 
car had a different make!
    You all have a nice July 4th week end. We had our fireworks and 
celebrations yesterday on July 1rst.   Fern

In my experience, there are two types of earlly 60's motors. One the 
standard type, the other listed in the parts book as "dura type" . The 
standard type motor and mount is interchangable side to side and front 
to back.  The "dura type"  is side specific and much less common. For 
some reason, there can be standard and "dura types" mixed on the same 
car, I have run into this twice.  There are differences in the way the 
mount attaches to the regulator and to the motor, but the easiest way to 
tell is to check where the  wires come out of the motor. The standard 
come out of the bottom of the motor, the "dura type" come out of the 
middle.  If any of my cars have the "dura type" that fails, I remove it 
and replace it with standard. This involves changing out the regulator, 
but if there is a failure in the future, it's much easier to find a 
standard motor that the "dura type" .

different motors, the opposite of each other.
And I'm sure there are several different looking ones, but they may
interchange. Check the mounting holes and the gear position/size.
And I also seem to recall that the motors are not grounded, The
direction of the current flow is what makes them go up or down. This
means you connect your Positive lead to one terminal and the Neg to the
other to see if the motor is good, reverse the leads to see it turn the
other way.
