RE: [Chrysler300] Seatbelt Requirements

Last time I checked on this, if your car did not originally come with
seat belts you are exempt. Some cops may be to young to remember that
back in the day most cars did not have seat belts so be prepared to
politely educate The Man.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Seatbelt Requirements

I have a friend that desires to drive their 1962 classic car from South
Carolina to California. It does have lap-type seat belts but does not
have
shoulder belts or the like. Are there any states in between (especially
California) that require shoulder-type belts, even though they were not
offered in the year of manufacture of the vehicle?

This question may apply to those that are driving to Lake Tahoe in
August
and plan to extend their visit into California or states to the east.

Thanks for your help.
