I would not know how many were built with manual steering, but I do know that if mine had it, I could drop my membership at the gym for maintaining my upper arms and chest. John Madden who lives in Southern Calif has a red C-300 that he is close to finishing a beautiful frame up restoration on which has absolutely no options(which also means no radio or heater). Would be interesting to know how many with no options or now PS or PB. Gil Cunningham and his records may know. I assume that the old race cars did not have power steering but I do not know. Anyone out there have any ideas? Any records out there on 55's and 56's with AC, manual trans(in 56 as well as torqueflights), record players, gas heaters, colors, etc. etc. I do know in the Corvette world you can get records that show how many of all combinations of options were built. How about estimates on how many 55's and 56's are left out there? These numbers could be roughly calculated by counting those registered in the membership roles of both clubs.
