Hello Chuck and everyone, regarding the ' 77, thats what the problem is. The ' 77 doesn't have electronic ignition, they have the "lean burn" or whatever name they happened to call it that year. AKA electronic spark control. Most of those cars had the computer on the side of the aircleaner, when the engine gets hot, they sometimes malfunction. My ' 87 had the computer under the drivers side of the dash, which my computer finally crapped out at 245K. With the electronic ignition, and a Holley spreadbore, it runs like a new car again.
