Hi Gary, What we used to do was disconnect the neg. battery cable. Now
take a volt meter that will read at least 12v DC. Make a lead to put on
the pos. & one for the neg. terminal on the volt meter and then hook the
leads between the neg. terminal on the battery, and the positive
leadon the meter to the neg. battery cable. Your volt meter is now
acting as a amp meter. Now if you have any current draw the volt meter
will read 12V. now make sure averything is turned off. Your meter
should read 0 Volts. Start removing your fuses one at a time . Any
current draw at all will make the volt meter read 12v. You have to shut
your doors while doing this. Just opening a door will make the meter
read. The object is to keep disconnecting things one at a time until
your meter reads o volts. If you don't find the problem then start
disconnecting harnesses. also make sure you turn off all switches and
knobs before you start. as long as the meter reads something there is
something drawing current. This system works much better on older cars
because you don't have as much electrical stuff. It will drive you
nuts but it works. Don't forget to take your keys out of the ign.
switch. I'm sure there is a buzzer or door bell ring some where.---Now
remember. nothing on the car will work while doing this. If you turn on
your head lights they will not come on . Gary Barker

I can't get a mechanic to touch electrical without wanting to replace everything imaginable. The only thing that keeps the car alive is my battery tender.
