Hi all 300-lovers.

I know that someone out there will be able to straighten out my problem.
Where is the difference in size inbetween a C and D. I had a discussion
yesterday with another club member on where the differences might be.
Tail
light lenses and interior are obvious and the area around the windshield
too
but after consulting the wonderful book "Chrysler 300, America´s most
powerful car" we found out that there must be lots of other differences
too.

There is an inch difference in overall lenght (in Front overhang?), width
is more on the "D" and so is height and especially rear seat height.
To me the cars are looking almost the same but if these figs are true a
lot
of things will not interchange inbetween these two models. Anyone who
might
help us on this pls,

Best regards
Ulf Larsson 2N57 2660

Hello all.
Have a very nice & complete set of stainless side moulding, spears, pot
metal bezel & emblems for a '62 300 / H 2-door.
Also have original & repro trunk numbers (Layson's), various single pieces
of side trim, windshield trim, rear end trim, taillights, etc.

There's just about enough trim, etc to do an entire car...minus the
trunklid "H". Some of the front pieces (headlight doors, bumper, grille)
will also work for '61 cars. Please give me a shout if you can use
any/all of the pieces.

Many thanks & have a great week.

As you remember we 've a problem on a '57 Torqueflite: water was
mixed with fluid trans.
Since two weeks we've remove the trans from the car and took it
apart: the forward clutches were all destroyed, the friction
material was gone or ready to go ... Rear clutches were in good
conditions.
I've taken some pictures (40 !) of the removal of all the parts
and i'll put them later on my site.
Some readers (as me) thought that the culprit was the oil cooler
in the bottom of the radiator. Wrong ! we've brought the radiator
to a shop and they tested the radiator with high pressure and hot
water: no leaks .., the oil cooler and the radiator are perfect.
So the mystery remains! Why ther's water in the fluid ?
Condensation ? The car sat 1 1/2 year without driving (but the
engine was running every two weeks), it's perhaps the reason ...
We've overhauled the trans (with a kit from Fatsco, thanks, only
4 days to have the kit from the order to the adress in France)
and tomorrow we'll re-install the trans in the car. No problem to
overhaul the trans (we've done 10 Torqueflite since 5 years..),
only a curious (and dangerous) thing: 2 of the three unit screws
(which hold the overrunning clutch) broke before we reach the
correct torque !! And they broke at the same location: 2 threads
under their head.. Fortunately we're lucky to remove them and
replace with 2 other screws from another spare trans. we have.

Did you always let the engine run a long time when started up. Probably
needed to drive it to gent tranny heated up.

I still think more damage is done to a car starting it like that. Mine
stay
sitting unless I need to drive them worst wear is on start up and oil is
gone from walls in a few days at the most anyway.

Hi
Thanks to all who helped identify the engine cu.in. of my 64 300. It's a
parts car and for sale.

Subject: MOPAR RADIO I.D. ??

Please help, Gang! I have what may be a late 1950's/early 1960's MOPAR
radio. The case indicates that it is Model #851-11. The unit is a hybrid
design, in that the power supply uses a transistor rectifier, but the rest
of the radio is tubes. It has black plastic push buttons, and uses a
remote (not in the case) speaker. Any help in identifying what this radio
fits would be appreciated. Thanks, John in Wisconsin

My Sam's Photofacts Radio Manual says it is 1958 Chrysler. No model of
car
shown. The design of the aluminum plate does not look the way I remember
it looking on the 300D. Also, the plastic pushbuttons aren't correct for
the 300D, at least not on any I have ever seen. I suspect it might be for
the Windsor, but just a guess.
