The 1957 - 1959 left and right full quarter panels (from the s/s trim
down, door opening to bumper) being made by Metal Crafters should be ready
for sale in approx. a month. This is a project the club has been working
on
with D/C and Metal Crafters. Price for each panel will still be in the
$125.00 to $150.00 price range. This is the third stage of manufacture.
The Reproduction Committee has been very critical of the quality of these
panels and they have been checked very closely to the actual panels on the
cars during each stage.
These panels will not be stocked in the club store for obvious reasons.
Ordering and payment details will be posted on the listserver and in the
club publications as soon as the panels are made available. A final
meeting
with M.C. will be made in the second last week of Feb.
The Committee, George, Ken & Michael

Hi Bob -

Just wondering what the plan is. Are they planning to produce a limited
number of these, and when they're gone, that's it ?

Glad to hear that the Reproduction Committee is insisting on a high degree
of quality. There's too much repro and aftermarket stuff out there that
is
junk.

Ron

Hi Gang!!

This is OUTSTANDING NEWS!! Never thought we'd see the day there would
repro sheet metal projects becoming available for these cars . All club
members should rally behind these projects and if one has the slightest
need for them, get on board and put in your order so we can show these
folks we mean business.

My Green C is patiently awaiting them with shivering door panel innards as
she suffered the indignity of losing the lower 8" of her 1/4 to ease the
installation of a new right side rocker!

Subject: Tale of the quarter panel

When I finally closed down a storage building when the rent hit $225
a month, I brought my NOS 1/4 section (Full panel-door to inside lip
of trunk at rear, roof at top, with full fin, and bottom at bottom-
drivers side with gas door) over to new garage and hung it on rear
wall, temporarily.

It used to be mint, until it fell off anchors in wall and now has a
surface ding in the gray primer. I don't know how many of these there
are around. It was supposed to be last one at Chrysler warehouse when
bought in 1962.

Would it be useful as a "check" measure, rather than use measures off
of cars???
