Big opinion generator. Here's mine:
Any oil with an API Donut symbol/starburst is good oil. Shell Rotella 15-40 is such an oil, and it is highly endorsed by the old Corvette community who are as pointy-headed and careful as car guys come. It has sufficient zinc for sliding surface engines such as ours.
However! Mobil 1 just introduced a 10W30 full synthetic for use in sliding surface old car motors. I put 6 quarts in my F two weeks ago.
The balance of my rigs use Penngrade 10W40 out of habit. Its good oil too, but no API certification. I'll migrate them all to Mobil 1. I prefer 10W40 but for now only available in 10W30.
