That was my experience as well! I ordered a special grind -just a little enhancement to the factory Fury specs for my '57 Fury. Mr. Isky himself answered the phone! He promised me it would be somewhat of a dragon, but not too much- I could still drive it to the grocery store!
He was right.

John Kuegel, F, J, '57 Fury, couple of very cool '56s

In 1995 or so when I was rebuilding either my 58 392 or my 63 Fury power- pack 318 engine I was looking for a specific overlap.  May as well call Iskendarian I figured.  Guess who answered the phone.  Yep. Ed himself.  I was really impressed by that.  After I received the cam I called Bill Hancock and took it over to his shop and his Cam-Doctor.  It was right on.  I miss those days.

I remember buying an Isky cam back in 1985 when rebuilding the 365 motor for my ’57 Eldorado Biarritz.
It was bored .60 over & had that Isky “RV Grind” Cam.
Doing 60mph on the freeway & punching it & hearing both 4-barrells roar…..
That Hydromatic would downshift & launch that beast of a car.
Thank you Mr. Iskedarian for the past fun!!

I well remember seeing the Sturdevant Hemi-powered Power Wagon at Elkhart Lake races in the 60s. It was impressive. I probably have a photo of it around her somewhere. Sturdevant told me he supplied the FIRST torque wrenches to Ferrari and Maserati in the early  1950s. Before that time, they had just used a mechanic's "feel" (pull until a certain vein on your arm bulged). He was at the factory, saw that, and told them he would send torque wrenches to them as a gift. For then on they always welcomed him with open arms.

I seem to remember Ed Iskenderian when he was involved with Lee Sturdevant when building his super-charged hemi in a 4X4 Power Wagon in 1965 or so.  I had no idea he lived this long.  Rest in Peace.
