Our most recent encounter was taking the grandchildren to the ballgame in Denver Co. Traveled to town via light rail.. low and behold 4014 ras backed in to Union Station. Quite a sight in the light of the red sunset.

We went just out of curiosity but were gobsmacked by the size and mass and the steel. While we were there, they began to prep it for travel. We learned the route it would take, jumped in the car and picked a desolate spot to watch it move. We stood right next to the track, watched and felt it roll by at probably 40 mph. The ground shook and so did we. John’s screenshot said coast-to-coast tour. I will not miss it if it come within 100 miles of Oakland. Awesome experience.

We saw the Big Boy in July of 2019 in Adams, WI on the way to the Minnesota meet. Pretty special.
