I also have to add that she was having a hard time getting the car to start. I didn't try when I was there the last two times. The cars have been sitting quite a while but it's a clean dry garage. There is also a Hispano Suiza and two 1920s Lincolns in there and a old Chevy truck.

Uncracked, rebuildable J blocks are pretty scare and getting pricey.  Many Js do not have their original engines.  It probably lowers the value 3k to 5k assuming the engine currently in the car is good. Given the incorrect block, I concur with James that the asking price is a bit high, but not crazy high.  The seller intends to negotiate down.  Back seat looks like original leather.  Fronts are redone.

I've looked at this car a couple times. It doesn't have a J engine, it has
a 360hp K engine. The car was restored in 1978 and the seats were redone by
a local upholsterer. She has this car, a 300K 4-barrel coupe and a '64
Sport convertible. She got appraisals on the cars and I discussed the
values with her on them. She really doesn't want to sell the sport
convertible as that was her high school car. The appraiser wasn't a
specialist in these cars and he didn't know that the 300J didn't have the
correct engine in it.
