Last year, I think offline from the listserver, we did some paint comparisons based on input from David Frank. Long story short, two issues came up: 1) the Hirsch Chrysler Turq paint appears to be more "green" in recent stock than it did 6+ years ago. It is actually "too green" for a good match. It also isn't available anymore in rattle cans, but rather only in quarts. In quarts the paint is very thick - you have to thin to spray - but you can brush it as well. It will brush out nicely. 2) We couldn't get a good match to factory original parts with ANY of the currently available Chrysler Turq paints. To Kurt - I can't recall if we tried the Alpine Green.
Conclusions: The original recommended match, back in the day, was the Plastikote Chrysler Turq, which is no longer available. Believe it or not, we found the best match with 1957-58 Pontiac Turquoise from Bill Hirsch. It makes no sense, but multiple eyeballs confirmed this. At the Omaha meet, I gave the samples to Mark Obermann, and he compared them to the Turq engine paint reference sample from Chrysler used for judging - which has been closely guarded all these years in the executive washroom at Funk & Wagnalls. Mark agreed - Pontiac Turq was the best match (not perfect, but the closest).
What is the difference pre-65 Turquoise vs. post-65? I have compared original Turq engine parts from my stock both pre-65 and post-65 and they are identical.
Here is a photo attached showing sample comparisons against a factory original part and valve covers painted with the old Plastikote Turq.
We are splitting hairs and over thinking this topic, but since it resurfaced, this is what we found.

I’m very happy with the color match of Duplicolor “Detroit Diesel/Alpine
Green” you can get at NAPA and elsewhere. Here is a picture of the spray
can top and original bolt off my ‘64 Imperial. It lays out wonderfully,
drys quick and the finish is super durable as I believe the chemistry
includes ceramics.
