I am planning on my EFI conversion. The EMC needs a very good temp sensor. It MUST be before the thermostat.

Later RB engines had water pump housings with multiple points to screw in a sensor. I am wondering if anyone has drilled an early one with a boss with success. If not, then I may have to pull the front of the engine clean and put on a new aluminum one to get the ports I need.

This is a PITA, although I stripped everything 24 months ago and so all the bolts and stuff are new…

whole engine is at same temp for that purpose , put a brass tee on heater hose tapping ?

I know that the later 440’s used a different housing that had the sensors placed so that you could get it out without having to lift up the A/C. But as far as I can tell the 413 housing have no such boss to be drilled.

If anyone has found a good place, I would like to know.

I looked into the water neck risers with which take a side mounted sender, but the A/C will not allow for a raiser to be used.
