Re: {Chrysler 300} 300F starter motor

Summit doesn't sell one that works with cast iron torqueflite.

Can anyone advise on if they are using a Powermaster 9533 on a 1963 or 1964? I want to make sure that the 413 block is not different around the starter in some small way and the 9533 will work on it.

Thanks, James

I have an aftermarket Powermaster on the 440 in my 61 Plymouth which has been obedient since 2007 with sometimes long crank cycles.

However I believe Australia has more than one auto-electric shop. Has to, the place is awash in alternators and starters like any other developed nation. The AutoLite starter is a simple device that any shop should be able to find or source the brushes and bushings likely needed to repair it. I'd fix one before I replaced it.

Subject: {Chrysler 300} 300F starter motor

I have an email from April Maxwell looking for advice about fixing her 300F starter that is going bad here in Australia.  I don’t have experience with these so I am asking for some help.  Apart from taking it to someone who could fix it (which might be hard to find these days) an aftermarket alternative is probably an easier option.  I vaguely recall there may be problems fitting some of these.  Here is a link to a local shop with a couple of types. https://www.hemiperformance.com.au/shop/shop-by-category/electrical/starter-motor.html

Are any of these ok to use?  If not, any other brands that would work?

Thanks

Henry
