{Chrysler 300} 300 F Convertible with A/C for sale

Sadly, I am offering my almost completed, concours-level restored 300 F convertible with factory A/C for sale for best offer, and I wanted to post it here first. The backstory of this car appeared last year in the 300 Club magazine issue which featured stories about the 300 F. In brief, in 2012 I purchased the car as a complete, running, rust-free example, which had spent its entire life in California. I think there were two, or possibly three previous owners. The initial intent was to tweak a few things, and enjoy it as an original driver (one repaint). However, through a chain of events as described in the article (copy available upon request), the project morphed into a multi-year, open-checkbook, rotisserie restoration. Approximately $175,000 was spent, restoring every level of the car to as near perfect condition as possible. I can provide an exhaustive list of the things which were done, but they include high quality re-plating of all of the chrome, purchasing almost every interior soft good component that Gary Goers offered, utilizing almost all of the gauge and electronic refurbishing services that JC Auto offers, having the transmission rebuilt by Don Verity, having the air-conditioning system restored by Classic Air, having the steering wheel restored by Dennis/Quality Restorations, having the engine rebuilt by a specialist in the Mopar 413‘s– the list goes on. BUT, one tragic error was made. When the undercoat was applied, apparently somehow some moisture got into it. Initially, the award-winning level top coat of formal black paint looked perfect, but, as explained in the article, the reassembly of the vehicle was substantially delayed. Recently, when the reassembly was finally on track and scheduled to be completed, we noticed there were numerous small imperfections in the paint, probably resulting from moisture in the undercoat causing tiny rust specs to work their way to the surface. So, a difficult decision needs to be made. One option would be to continue the reassembly of the car, which mostly consists of installing the interior, the dash and related wiring, windshield, convertible top, and some of the chrome trim and bumpers. All of the necessary parts are present. The result would be a fantastic looking car from 10 feet, with perfect interior, chrome, etc., and in outstanding running condition, but with imperfect paint. The other option, and the “right" thing to do, would be to largely disassemble the car again, take it down to metal, and then repaint and reassemble. There would be no bodywork involved, but obviously the repainting process is significant. I believe that option would result in one of the nicest 300 F's in existence, especially given the really outstanding condition of the car when I bought it (it even had the original sound deadening material intact). But at my age, and with my level of experience, I’m not willing to undertake either option. So, I’ve decided to sell the car as it currently sits. I have no illusion of getting anywhere near the amount we have invested, and will consider ALL offers—I simply want to sell it, and quickly. I do have one offer right now, and expect to make a decision very soon, so if this interests anybody, please contact me right away. I can provide many more details and pictures to anyone seriously interested. The best way to reach me would be through my email, which is SitPluto@xxxxxxxxx.
