Why are you avoiding the Bulkhead connector? Carefully pull it apart and clean ALL the connectors. It might not have been the problem, but you'll know it is clean and corrosion free going forward.
Use a good electrical grease to lube and protect it on reassembly.

And I always "tweeked" the male spade connector a little, 15° or so, to insure a solid connection with the female side when they went back together. I did this with any spade connector I had apart.

I know there can be issues with the bulkhead connector, there is no power to the ignition switch and no console light comes on when you open the door.  No fuses are blown and you can start the car by bridging the terminals on the starter relay and connecting the coil to the battery. When you do this the car will run and drive and lights in the console work when you open the door.  The ignition switch still won't work. The car has 42k miles on it and alot of electrical parts have been replaced.  Does anyone have any ideas besides the bulkhead connector?
