RE: {Chrysler 300} 300H headlights

I wonder John if the J/K buckets can take something deeper. I was thinking of the Holley LED lights.

thus brings up the 100 different ways you can assemble the headlight holders on an F .

I think all 4 are unique , and some parts will fit together and to car several  ways ( incorrectly) .

I don’t know if anyone ever encountered this , but after new paint went to put in headlight buckets , had a box from 2-3 parts cars of pieces .

I had them on and off a few times , end up with lights turned a bit vs mount holes etc etc . expected 30 minutes took out a whole day

Despite all the parts ( never take all that stuff apart ) there was one I could not get right , sort of mirror image of what i needed ( 3-4 of those same as I had  of course ) ,

Finally looked at another F i was actually missing one variation of bucket despite all the parts  .

I ended up redrilling one to get light up straight with words correct and that nub in right place .

Also 300 buckets (5”) are not deep enough , nor center hole large enough for  some after market really nice H4 type upgrade bulbs . You have to cut out the center of the stamped steel .

Whole episode very frustrating

You have my empathy!

I think the bulb holders are " keyed" to the protrusion patterns on the bulbs and low bulbs are different from hi bulbs? I ask because on my 65 fury they would only sit in their respective bases one way if you have the lettering or label cast in the glass right side up. I could be wrong on the older units. Someone can confirm or deny here because I am curious now...

You are correct.

Low Beam situated on Top

High Beam situated on the Bottom

Hi All. I'm building my 300H from a bare body shell, nearly everything was missing. My question is, would the low beam bulb be located at the top and the high beam on the bottom? I would appreciate any and all input. Thanks in advance. Bill Grieve.
