Re: {Chrysler 300} 413 Ram Valley Pan

There should be no extra gaskets on the valley pan. The factory never put them there. These do not always fit even on single 4 barrel manifolds. They use them to fill slight differences in height or angle. The separate ram manifolds bolt individually to the heads, and don't need any extra help. Some aviation high tach is all that is needed, with some silicone sealer for the ends. The elbows should be loose, so they don't interfere with the manifolds sitting flat.

Hello,

Question for those that assembled and lived with several Ram engines:

I found a valley pan gasket for my G with the Heat Crossover passages blocked. Of course these heat passages are not used on the Ram engines. I have never installed one of these before with the passages blocked.

With the valley pan, they included 4 cardboard (?) gaskets to sandwich the valley pan between the heads and the intakes. I have never used any gasket other than the steel valley pan on any of the engines I have assembled in the past. I have always used Hi Tack on the Valley Pan and nothing else. Never had an issue doing this in the past with a range of big blocks (4bbl, 6 pac and the Ram G).

Do you recommend using the cardboard (?) gaskets? I’d appreciate any feedback from those that have dealt with this before.

Thanks,

Richard
