Re: {Chrysler 300} 413 Ram Valley Pan

With help from my local mechanic, my rebuilt F motor is again up and running. 275 trouble-free test miles in the past two weeks.
No gaskets on the underside of the valley pan to the heads. Yes gaskets on the topside of the valley pan where ram manifolds mounted. No gaskets on the front and rear of the valley pan fastened by the metal strips with 3 bolts on each end. Permatex.
Also, ditto to your comment on the great quality of J-Y’s and John’s choke pots. Bought them a few years ago and just installed them, even though my old ones are still serviceable.

I have never used any gasket other than the steel valley pan on any of the engines I have assembled in the past. I have always used Hi Tack on the Valley Pan and nothing else. Never had an issue doing this in the past with a range of big blocks (4bbl, 6 pac and the Ram G).
