For those that collect the old literature this May, 1955 issue of MI contains the Tom McCahill road test of the ’55 300 and a report on Speed Week in it.  I bought one copy (of the car and magazine), but have not yet received the magazine.  eBay:  http://tinyurl.com/7j3dgjr        

 

This was just one of many articles written about the mighty Chrysler 300 in 1955 and since.   There was a collective gasp from the public as they realized anyone with enough money could buy a 300 HP track-ready stock car right off the showroom floor.  The rest is the amazing history and creation of an American Icon.
