As far as I know, ALL automatic transmissions have vents. I saw a GM tranny 
with a blocked vent blow the dipstick out and put several quarts of fluid 
into the engine compartment.

That was my car!!! (Not really, but I had the exact thing happen on a 55 Buick....the shop forgot to clean the vent tube after a complete rebuild, and it dumped a LOT of fluid within a few miles, and even more after I stopped to check what the smoke and smell was all about)
