Have you checked the new cables against the original one? It may be that, if too short, some bending is binding the inner cable. And if too long, the routing might have the same effect.
You need gentle curves and keep te cable well lubed.

remember, it broke twice at the top and once at the bottom.
i bought the two cables from some guy on line / seemed like a nice guy
and sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
