[Chrysler300] 1958 300D AIR CLEANER

The 58 air cleaners are oval with a flat spot. Does anybody know how they
were placed on the carburetors from the factory, if the flat spots face to
the rear on both or do the flat spots face each other?

 

I have seen it both ways

 

Also where on the air cleaners do the instruction labels go?
