[Chrysler300] 1957 airconditioning

Back to the question regarding airconditioning in the 57 300C,  where
there any trunk mounted items,  and were these units installed at the
dealer or manufactuer?  What manufactuer supplied the units?
 
As it relates to market value,  would you add one now,  if it wasn't
originally on the car?
