[Chrysler300] vacuum power assist?

after getting much good info on brakes today from the 300 club
members...i conclude that i am operating with no power brake vacuum
assist.
it clearly feels like a car without power brakes.
so, how does one tell if the vacuum bellows jobbie is working or
not...or leaking or whatever can go wrong?
i have been told that i has to be working for when i do the disk brake
conversion...so first things first.
and how do i find out if the black vacuum reservoir is holding air?
thanks to all i will be a brake wizard before i am thru / but at the
moment am still in the dark.
