RE: [Chrysler300] gas tank repair

Just for reference, the 1955 gas tank has the sender mounted to the top of
the tank, accessed through a plug in the trunk floor--and is only the
sending unit. The outlet is a separate connection with an inaccessible
filter on the inside. Slopping sealer to the inside of it very well could
plug the filter. I suppose one could fun compressed into the outlet tube to
try and blow the gunk off of the filter???

1955 C-300 (with a restored tank that had the outlet removed, filter
replaced and the outlet soldered/welded back in)

On most tanks, the Gas Gauge sender unit is also the pick-up. Once
removed, all that is left is the tank itself with only the big hole the
sender was in and the filler tube. There maybe a vent tube somewhere
also but the sealer won't seal it off.

I have a 300F. I need to seal a leak in the tank.POR15 has a kit that

The problem is how to keep the sealer from cloging the gas outlet tube.
with the tank off does the outlet tube come out with the float? Victor
