On most tanks, the Gas Gauge sender unit is also the pick-up. Once 
removed, all that is left is the tank itself with only the big hole the 
sender was in and the filler tube. There maybe  a vent tube somewhere 
also but the sealer won't seal  it off.

with the tank off does the outlet tube come out with the float? Victor
