[Chrysler300] 300D on ebay

I'm not sure about '58 at DeSoto, but the '57 DeSoto data plates were placed in the position you describe.  If the car was once listed with the club as junked, I'd beware the fact it may have been rebodied with a '57 or '58 DeSoto Fireflite body shell.  They are identical with the exception of the spot-welded tail lamp mounting filler panel to the best of my knowledge.  Then add the D dash, 300 trim, etc.

Hi all,
There is a black 300D h/top for sale on ebay, I just happened to notice that
the data plate was on the front cowl/upper firewall rather than the "normal"
radiator support. Thought it may be worth anyone serious about purchasing
the car to check it out thoroughly first. Or did some D's have the tag here?
