Re: [Chrysler300] Regarding Tires For My "F"

Hi Michael,

Certainly, you are entitled to your opinion but you just mixed up apples and
oranges. Imperials took 9:50 - not 9:00 bias ply tires like our ³F²s.

Your statement below would make one think that the Coker 235/75R14 radials
will lower your ³F² by 2 1/2 inches.

This is not true. There is no loss in vehicle height. That would not be true
with an Imperial.

Also, my vehicle does not have a harsher ride at low speeds and the steering
is exceptional.

Enjoy the narrow white walls!

Subject: [Chrysler300] Regarding Tires For My "F"

Thanks to all of you who responded to my post regarding new tires
for my "F". Much appreciated.

I have an order on hold with Coker for a new set of radisls, and was
going to exercise the order today -- until.... I read an excellent
article on the Imperial Club's Web site titled "Bias Ply versus
Radial Tires: Which Are Best For The Imperial."

The article is composed of a large number of posts by club members
on the various considerations, factors, etc. on deciding which type
of tires to use on older cars. I'm now 99% convinced that,
considering all of the factors, I will stay with bias-ply shoes for
the "F". The major considerations:
- not wanting to drop the car about 2-1/2 inches lower.
- not wanting a harsher ride at low speed
- not wanting the extra wear and tear on the steering/suspension gear
- wanting a 1" - 1-1/4" whitewall width

For those interested in the Imperial Club page, it is at:
