I have compared the Caddy and C300 dual quad air cleaners side by side and indeed they are different in contour and so on. But I think I recall that they will both fit on the carburetors and are thus interchangeable for a non-show application. Both the 55-57 Caddy and the 55-56 300's took a pair of Carter 4 barrels as standard - and I THINK they were thus equally spaced by the intake manifold. In 58 Caddy went over to the triple dual design (three 2 barrels).

But alas - it was a long time ago when I did this.

Aren't the holes where the air cleaner is attached to the carb studs closer together on the Cadillac?
