John and list,

On that LED that AAR installs, I believe it is there to indicate the FM band is selected. At least, that is what it did for my '51 Windsor radio I had AAR convert to AM/FM. It did work well, and I have to say that I found the LED useful to have. The way the band was changed was to turn the power off for 5 seconds and then back on again.

No complaints about the cost or service.
