Question on my 62' 300H

I have a 1962 300H I am restoring. It's actually in fair condition now and runs good. The man I purchased it from kept a diary on it. It also has this info on the VIN and I am trying to find out if this car had the first Serial No. Info is as follows:

SC2H CODE RC4-P-DETROIT #8423-100001-1st SERIAL NUMBER

Anyone know if these numbers mean this is the first 300H on assembly line?
