RE: [Chrysler300] Generator - terminal confusion

Ray and Group.......
It has been a few months since I last did this, but I believe the method I used was to completely disconnect the generator from the voltage regulator and attach a wire from the FIELD post on the generator to a good ground on the block..... Then briefly (for a couple seconds) touch a wire from the POSITIVE BATTERY POST to the ARM post on the generator. It only takes a second or two. My reason for disconnecting the voltage regualtor is so no damage can occur to that part. Disconnect the wire from the FIELD to the block, reconnect the the voltage regulator to the generator and start the engine and test for current output.

I believe this is correct...... anyone have anything to add or correct???

Good luck...
George

It's been so long since working on a generator-era car that although I
recall the term about polarizing the generator, I sure don't recall how to
do it. Would you mind sharing that with either the group or me
individually?
