300C brakes

Hi all
I am about to reassemble the brakes back up on my C. Are the brake support plates, with the adjusters on them, painted or natural, mine appear to have some sort of coating on them. Also, I'm guessing that the brake drum is a natural finish........ or are they painted? Any idea what type of paint to use on the drums to handle the heat?
