[Chrysler300] amp meter

Anyone have any idea why my amp meter seems to get possessed? 
(I have '61 300G)
The needle goes wild, especially when I use my directionals or lights or anything.
At times the needle goes nuts for no apparent reason at all.
Car holds a charge ok. Electrical componets seem to work fine. 
Any thoughts or just hope it's a friendly ghost?
