Thanks everyone for your answers.  I think about 5,982 club members answered.  Well maybe not quite that many.  You are all a magic fountain of knowledge and we thank you for your willingness - eagerness - to share your knowledge.  

The consensus is to forget about the swap.  It is better to hear that from knowledgeable sources before you are under the car or truck trying to pound in a transmission that will not fit.  Oh Yeah.
