If that is fine, drop pan and inspect the cable to valve body linkage. Seems as though something is loosening up, assuming that the trans functioned fine previously. Now would be a great time to drain the convertor , clean screen on valve body, and put a new filter in the cooling line. As to what fluid is recommended...well we had quite a thread about that last year...where did we end up on that (list)? As I recall Type F won out. Let us know what you find. Has anyone heard any news on the repro sheetmetal? Thanks! -----Original Message----- Sent: Sunday, February 17, 2002 5:27 PM To: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [Chrysler300] 57-59 quarter panels The 1957 - 1959 left and right full quarter panels (from the s/s trim down, door opening to bumper) being made by Metal Crafters should be ready for sale in approx. a month. This is a project the club has been working on with D/C and Metal Crafters. Price for each panel will still be in the $125.00 to $150.00 price range. This is the third stage of manufacture. The Reproduction Committee has been very critical of the quality of these panels and they have been checked very closely to the actual panels on the cars during each stage. These panels will not be stocked in the club store for obvious reasons. Ordering and payment details will be posted on the listserver and in the club publications as soon as the panels are made available. A final meeting with M.C. will be made in the second last week of Feb. Price was around $ 50.00, expensive for 3 copies of the build sheet and a hand written explanation ! no infos about options codes, schedule date etc.. Fortunately i know (at last for '57) the codes of the data plate ! i've put on a page of my site (http://www.ifrance.com/c-i-f/chs_us.htm) one pic of the card and the explanations about code deciphement. You must also go to the data plate page to know the option codes (ther's a link on the page). -- Philippe COURANT (Pau, France) Imperial 57 Crown convertible Buick 58 Roadmaster sedan - American Car Club de France (ACCF) : http://www.accf.com - Chrysler Imperial France : http://www.ifrance.com/c-i-f - Cadillac " Standard of Excellence " : http://www.ifrance.com/accf-cad - SportsCars : http://www.ifrance.com/accf-sprtcar ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 6 Date: Thu, 4 Apr 2002 18:32:07 -0500 From: "Langendorfer" <langendorfer@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: No gas!!! Owen: One more idea...I had a 1962 TriPower Pontiac Grand Prix (sorry - but it was a car that GM thought could be "kinda like a Letter Car", when you think about it!) w/ a fuel block and neoprene hoses (non-stock) to each of the Rochesters (You didn't state what kind of fuel lines you have - a stock setup would eliminate the situation I am describing). When the car was in a warm situation and at an idle or in traffic after a run, the heat from the manifold crossover in the center of the intake would emanate up and literally boil the gas in the neoprene lines. I doubt that's what is happening w/ you, if you have stock Six Pack lines, but just sharing an experience (switching to repro fuel lines at the carbs fixed this issue). I figure the list is kinda quiet at the moment and I'm sure that this could just as easily be a letter car problem.......besides it's got me stumped! Anyway here goes.... > >The problem has only occurred irregularly after a long run, the most recent when I attended a car show and was parking up. The car just cuts out, runs out of gas, wind it over ,nothing at the carbs ( 3x2 Holley's). Pull the fuel line off at the pump, wind it over, nothing. So happens the previous owner of the car comes over, "happened to me a few times too, poor some gas down the centre carb". So do that, starts, runs nice, until the next time that is! >Their seems to be no real pattern to it occurring, apart from the fact it's always happed to me after a reasonably long run, and is back around idle speed. Fuel pump? Air lock? Carb? >Thanks for any help or suggestions, before I start pulling things part, would be greatly appreciated. >Owen > > > >[Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > >To send a message to this group, send an email to: >Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > >For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm > >To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: >Chrysler300-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > >Your use of Yahoo!
