And what type of limited slip it was optional mounted. Thanks in advance Rickard Larsson 300E vin M591100629 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 2 Date: Thu, 4 Apr 2002 14:07:51 +1200 From: "Owen & Jo Grigg" <ram300@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: No gas!!! Hi all First off I have to tell you this problem is not happening on my 300 letter car, but on my 440 GTX. I figure the list is kinda quiet at the moment and I'm sure that this could just as easily be a letter car problem.......besides it's got me stumped! Anyway here goes.... The problem has only occurred irregularly after a long run, the most recent when I attended a car show and was parking up. The car just cuts out, runs out of gas, wind it over ,nothing at the carbs ( 3x2 Holley's). Pull the fuel line off at the pump, wind it over, nothing. So happens the previous owner of the car comes over, "happened to me a few times too, poor some gas down the centre carb". So do that, starts, runs nice, until the next time that is! Their seems to be no real pattern to it occurring, apart from the fact it's always happed to me after a reasonably long run, and is back around idle speed. Fuel pump? Air lock? Carb? Thanks for any help or suggestions, before I start pulling things part, would be greatly appreciated. After going thru all the easy, simple checks, you might find the fuel sock on the end of the pick-up tube in the tank is getting clogged. As you run at speed, the sock (filter) is getting clogged with sediment. when you stop, it gradualy falls back to the bottom of the tank. While you go about pouring gas in the carb, you've burned up 5-10 minutes, allowing the dirt time to fall away. The poured gas gets it started, and the pump can now get gas. Solution, clean the tank. If you can get to the fuel pump sender, take it out and use a match to check the bottom of the tank for dirt. Just kidding, use a flash light. If you can't sget to the sender, and have a drain plug, drain the tank and see what comes out. I've run into this so many times that now I check it sooner rather than later. Let us know how it comes out, this could happen to any of our cars, Ray Jones > From: "Owen & Jo Grigg" <ram300@xxxxxxxxxx> > Date: Thu, 4 Apr 2002 14:07:51 +1200 > To: <Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: [Chrysler300] No gas!!! > > Hi all > > First off I have to tell you this problem is not happening on my 300 letter > car, but on my 440 GTX. Owen: I had a similar situation recently with my H. I put it on the list server a few weeks ago and the consensus of opinion was a bad fuel pump, crack in the fuel line or bad floats. I checked all the fuel lines and couldn't find a crack. Last weekend I changed fuel pumps to see that solved the problem. Car wouldn't start the following morning unless I poured gas directly into the carb. Turns out it is a bad accelerator pump in the primary carb. Replaced it and everything is fine now. So check your accelerator pump. I recently bought an original JoHan model car of a ' 61 New Yorker H/T. Some of the New Yorker exterior trim has been previously sanded off. I want to change it into a G. I already have the correct interior and engine for the car, my question is about the overall length of the body, and wheelbase. Are there any changes to be made? I have an extra ' 62 300 kit for parts. I think the NY and G shares the 126" WB and overall length. Thanks in advance!
