Check this out on the upcoming meet ...

www.courier-journal.com

Then go to Byron Crawford

Remember that the author has literary license and the editor cuts to make
things fit but not a bad story to create interest in our meet.

I sourced and installed new seatbelts for my 300F hardtop about 8 months
ago. I got them from Andover Corp in a style consistant with dealer
installed belts in 1960. I have seen pictures of one 1960 300F with
factory
belts (Tom Turners 4 speed car). Those belts were a friction fit clasp and
a
very coarse weave on the fabric. Don Pettys 4 speed hardtop also had
factory belts and those appear to be a different type. Bob Merritts web
site
has a feature on seat belt installation. Most belts from that era were the
same as airplane belts. www.simplexco.com/auto/

Weeks ago I asked the list if anyone had ever heard of a R. Petty edition
of
the 79 'doba.
You all said NO. Don Petty sez no such animal. Guess that puts closure
on
the issue.
We can all go back to sleep. L Jett

Will these seatbelts work on rear seats as well?

I have seen an ad over the last few months in Hemmings and others for a
300F
Convertible (it looks like it's hot pink) from Automaniacs in TX. Upon
inquiring about this car, it was revealed
that the numbers indicate an 842 (hardtop) versus an 845 (convertible). Is
anyone aware of this car and what has been done to it, and how this might
have been done? Just curious.....
