I did a bonehead move and tore the transmission mount. This is the rubber isolator that goes between the tailshaft and the transmission mounting brace. Anybody have one? Where can I get one? Every one of the floats develop a very small pin hole under the float arm and the grove in the brass float. I tried soldering the hole and it works for a short time then another shows up I think my next one I'm going to put the float on the arm and then dip it in gas tank sealer. I'd hate to see the original hubcaps stolen from my car (I live in Chicago). Looking for ideas for inexpensive good-looking alternates to the real thing. I repaired a brass sinker for a collector and observed that the loop at the end of float arm puts to much pressure on the thin wall of the brass float. This causes it to crack. Remedy: Open up the loop slightly to take off excess pressure. Float should actually rotate when in place. Then solder the float arm to the brass float. You will have to tin float wire arm. You should have a permanent fix. Gary, The Parts Doc At 09:50 AM 8/7/02 , G Barker wrote: >I believe there is some reaction between the brass and the float >arm.
