I DO Not Need so: Spent time in the garage rooting around looking to clear some space, and a delayed return to de-cluttering. Seems over the years I overindulged entertaining an idea I held onto too long. Over the course of many years and multiple swap meet locations I sought out a more lightweight 2x4 carburetor setup to 'trick out a little' my 300C. A large part of the Push to hit the swaps was the missing 2 carter WCFB's for the car under restoration plans and maybe the chance to find miscellaneous parts. When I got the car that was/is underway it came with a 2x4 carter set, but they were 55's. ( Sold for some $$ to put $$ in the pot for when I found the 57's) SO while hunting a correct pair of 57 WCFB's I thought to myself that cast iron mannyfold with a pair of WCFB's is downright heavy. Weiand made a drop in replacement in aluminum, surely I can pair that with a pair of AFB's and save a little weight, and probably have a bit more fun letting the 392 hemi breath better. the early AFB's had small airhorn tops so I could retain the stock aircleaners. That thought I Liked. While at a swap every now and then if the $$ was reasonable to me I picked up an AFB here or there. Turns out I got carried away. We dug out 10 of them during a declutter session, most of them 100% intact, several were taken apart some to inspect its guts. Now for the MEAT!! Carby #1 YES this is a TRUE 2x4 Front AFB, no choke, never provisioned for having one, carter 3258S 62 Chrysler 300H 1/2 of a inline 2x4 setup (reasonably certain fairly rare) traditional inline 2x4 configuration, Not Cross ram, crossram carbs were smaller CFM and both had chokes. 8 other Mopar AFB's (so I must a done something right picking and poking about). The following 'chart' is based upon the information in my 1964 vintage Carter application catalog. Judging by the Carter book I have I seem to have done ok on the Mopar carby picks (knew barely enough to say they were Mopar when I impulse bought them) And since they are the small airhorn factory type so stock aircleaners of that time frame will fit. do any of these Interest anyone??
