I recall others stating those handles "can break."  Dunno if it is that pin that is the actual breakage they are experiencing though.

There is a pin that holds the handle in place. You are likely missing that pin. Handle should not come off under any circumstances.

When closing vent window press on glass if you pull on latch it may come off in your hand David wallace 58 fury
