30 years ago I had an itch that needed scratching.....a 1957 Adventurer. On a weekend day we were expecting company and I had sampled the cooking wine to the extent when my wife said she needed butter, I volunteered to walk to the 7-11 and she said, "not driving?" It will give me a chance to buy an AUTO TRADER and find an Adventurer for sale. On the walk home I find just the car about 500 miles south in CA. I call my brother in law that lived close by and send him to look it over and if it is decent, to give him what ever deposit required until I can get him a bank check on Monday. As he is leaving, some Swedes show up ready to pay the asking price but the seller turned down an extra grand because he was honorable. It was the cover picture later on Cars and Parts. and Automobile Magazine sent their design chief, Robert Cumberford out from Ann Arbor to spend the day driving and assessing the car. "Good car" was his final sentence as I drove him back to the airport. On Fri, Dec 25, 2020 at 9:10 AM Larry Jett <larrywjett@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
