Re: [FWDLK] When did this Happen?

It's been so long since I've looked at models, what are they making them of? Not material, but like trucks or cars?

Yeah found this out a few years back.  We have a hobbytown USA not far from my home with a good selection and all the glue you could need.  They've got a good website too:

That link should tell you if you have a store near you.
Method of last resort is Amazon.  They sell it all.
Finally this is the BEST online model place I've ever found.
If they don't got it, you don't need it....lol.

Some of my fondest memories growing up was building airplane models during the Vietnam era.  F105 was the first one I ever built.  At 5 years old!

2 inches of snow on the car at 6am.  Gone by 8am.
Spring?  My tulips don't know it......

Enjoy!

Tried PVC glue :-)?  A little thick and stringy maybe!

We have a toy store in my small town  of about 6000. They carry models and are willing to special order items. They have glue for sale, but I recall glue being restricted for adult purchase only for many years now. And prices for both have gone up a mite since the 1950s.

Try your local Michaels craft store. Last time there I saw a section with models. Also look up a local hobby/train shop, the one near me also has models.

I went to the local Super Wal-Mart to pick up a model car for my grandson, who just turned ten, as I thought it would be a good way to turn hm onto the Mopar car culture that grandpa has always enjoyed.  Building model cars/ tanks/ airplanes/ etc was a part of my youth and a good way to find how things go together.

Wal-Mart no longer caries models.  said they did away with them because "kids sniffed the glue".  Makes about as much sense as doing away with guns because someone with mental issues uses them inappropriately.  Treat the problem by doing away with a related ancillary item...  Where are the parents?

Regardless, I found this to be a great surprise, and now I am going on a search for Mopar models.  Actually have a couple, but wanted the "easy" starter kits, and didn't plan on going on-line to find them.  Guess another sign that I am indeed a dinosaur...

PS:  Just got another inch+ of snow tonight.  Will it never end?????  Where is the "global warming" I was promised???
