Re: [FWDLK] 57 DeSoto 325 Poly Questions

In the old days, they used to sell a replacement cap for brake fluid metal can containers that had a clear plastic hose in the center. It should be easy to drill a hole in a spare brake fluid bottle's plastic cap that would be a snug fit around a plastic hose.

Thanks to those who replied with the lab squirt bottle and/or tubing
technique for adding brake fluid. By the way, I've been putting speed
bleeders on my cars lately, which makes brake bleeding much easier and
faster. The 57 DeSotos have taken the 5/16 thread size, while later Mopars take 1/4. Easiest way to get them is through Amazon. (The way things are going, it seems like we're all going to be buying just about everything
from them.)

But no one has given me a lead yet on a source for rebuilt/new water pumps for 325 poly V8s. Would you believe there are adaptor plates so you can
use SBC water pumps. Seriously. I do not want to go that route!

Subject: [FWDLK] 57 DeSoto 325 Poly Questions

1) How the heck do you add brake fluid? The power brake unit is mounted on
the firewall directly above the master brake cylinder. There is
insufficient
room (only about an inch) between the bottom of the power brake unit and
the
nut/cap on top of the master cylinder.

2) Where can I buy a rebuilt water pump? (online search has come up empty)
